Rate of Pay

$95,000- $102,000 annually depending on experience and licensure

Qualifications

  • Current, active, unencumbered Colorado RN or LPN License (required)
  • CPR certification upon hire. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
  • Eligible to participate in federally funded health care programs.
  • A minimum of 3 years long-term care experience
  • Previous teaching/staff development experience (preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of current standards of practice and the rules, regulations, and laws related to the long-term care industry. The ability to teach this knowledge to others.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Possess the ability to determine competency-based education needs
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, plan and implement general orientation and clinical orientation for new hires and existing staff
  • Complete and keep record of annual competencies for all clinical staff by coordinating clinical orientations and skills fairs
  • Utilize online learning platform to conduct and track of nursing department competencies
  • Plan, implement, direct and evaluate the education program in the facility based on identified resident needs, nursing assistant needs, other staff needs, and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Evaluate resident and staff needs and provide the administrator and human resources with comprehensive recommendations concerning the educational needs of the nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with Vice President of Operations and HR to plan an annual schedule of education programs.
  • Plan, schedule and post monthly calendar of education programs in a timely manner.
  • Maintain current education records of classes conducted, attendance and clinical performance of each nursing assistant.
  • Supervise and evaluate nursing staff conformance to facility policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Supervise classroom and clinical activities of nursing staff.
  • Continually assess the education program to assure implementation of the approved program.
  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
  • Consistently work cooperatively with all staff, consultants, community agencies, and ancillary service personnel.
  • Assume Quality Assurance duties as assigned.
  • Participates in nursing department on-call rotation as scheduled.
  • Functions as charge nurse and/or medication/treatment nurse as needed.
  • Participates in managerial oversight of the dining room to identify opportunity for education regarding resident dignity, nutritional/fluid intakes, infection control, and teamwork.
  • Conducts nursing/environmental/safety surveillance rounds, reports findings to the appropriate staff managers, and facilitates appropriate staff education to resolve potential/actual concerns.
  • Interpret and implement established facility policies, procedures and regulations for nursing staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
