Admissions from Community: What to Expect

Supporting You Every Step of the Way

Making decisions about care can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate the process alone. At Brookside, we welcome admissions from home and community settings, providing personalized support and guidance from the moment you contact us. Our team is committed to helping you or your loved one transition comfortably and confidently into our care.

Choosing a long-term care community is an important decision. We encourage prospective residents and families to take time to learn about our services, meet members of our team, and explore what makes Brookside feel like home. Visiting our community can provide valuable insight into the resident experience, daily routines, and the supportive environment we strive to create. Getting to know the people, spaces, and programs that make up our community can help you feel more comfortable and confident in your decision.

Frequently Asked Questions Before Admission:

1. Do you accept Medicaid pending? Will you help me with the Medicaid application process?

Yes, we do accept Medicaid pending. Acceptance is based on individual circumstances, and our Admissions Team can review your case to help determine eligibility. We can also provide guidance throughout the Medicaid application process, answer questions, and connect you with available resources to make the process as smooth as possible.

2. What happens if I'm not getting along with my roommate?

We understand that sharing a room can be an adjustment. If concerns arise, our team will work with you to address the situation and explore available options whenever possible to help ensure a comfortable living environment.

3. Can I bring personal belongings, such as a television or favorite furnishings?

We encourage residents to personalize their living space with approved personal belongings that help them feel comfortable and at home. Items such as televisions, photographs, and other personal touches are often welcome. To help you prepare, our Admissions Team will provide a move-in guide with a list of recommended items to bring. We also recommend visiting the room before move-in to help determine which belongings will fit comfortably and meet safety guidelines.

4. Who will oversee my medical care?

Residents receive ongoing medical oversight from a dedicated physician group that regularly visits our community. Physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team work together to monitor each resident's health, coordinate care, and communicate with residents and families throughout their stay. Medications are administered by our licensed nursing staff according to physician orders, and prescriptions are ordered and managed by the medical provider overseeing the resident's care. Residents may also continue to see outside specialists as approved and ordered by the Brookside Inn primary physician.
