COVID-FIGHTING SUPERHEROES AT BROOKSIDE INN!

Dear Brookside Inn Residents, Family, Friends and Partners,

We all thought we knew our Brookside Inn team, but we were wrong! It seems that they have alter-egos, secret identities that before now we took for granted. These are our Brookside Superheroes: Fighting the germs and bacteria that cannot be seen by the human eye, fighting loneliness and depression, and most of all fighting for the welfare and common good of our residents.

Staff Members Dressed As COVID Superheroes These pictures were taken during National Nursing Home Week which recognizes the essential role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s frail, elderly, and disabled. These are but a few of the superheroes that help where and when they are able. We want to say thank you for keeping our residents safe and cared for. Our everyday heroes at Brookside Inn.

CNA WEEK

June 13 through 20, help us celebrate National CNA (Nursing Assistant) Week!. We will recognize nursing assistants who help our residents in so many ways. We have fun things planned each day for both shifts, along with a gift for each CNA. Some of the events we have planned are: Carnival Day, Sundae’s on Sunday, Taco Tuesday, Early Morning Pancake Breakfast.

BROOKSIDE INN IS HIRING!

Brookside Inn is currently enrolling students for upcoming CNA Classes, taking place June 15 – 26, July 13-24, & August 17-28, 2020. Each session runs approximately three weeks and takes place at BSI’s training facility in downtown Castle Rock. The coursework trains students on the art and science of being a CNA, and prepares them to take the state license exam. Our CNA course costs about a third of what other regional CNA training courses cost and scholarships are available! Following completion of the CNA course, graduates are welcome to apply to join the Brookside team. QAPI UPDATE

The staff at Brookside Inn continue to work hard at decreasing the number of falls throughout the facility, which is our 2020 QAPI project. This project is important because studies have shown that falling once doubles a residents chance of falling again. We continue to see a decrease in the number of falls throughout the facility, and are getting closer to our QAPI goal.

MAY EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Congratulations to Lindsay Templeton, Brookside Inn’s Employee of the Month for May! Lindsay is a part of the mentor program. She supports other departments and offers to help set up additional programs and outside volunteer activities. She is a compassionate advocate for the residents and is always looking for ways to improve their quality of life.

Lindsay also coordinates and runs the memorial services at Brookside. Lindsay is hardworking, dedicated, and passionate for her job. We are lucky to have her on the Brookside Inn Team.
